Mike Ciasulli recognized for the Adult Achievement Award for wrestling in the state of Pennsylvania
As written in the 2007 PJW State Championships Booklet:
Mike Ciasulli started the Red Hawk Wrestling Club in the basement of his own home in 1990 while workding with a handful of local wrestlers. Mike continues to serve as the head coach and president at Red Hawk today, where over 100 wrestlers from the Lehigh Valley train at his year-round facility in Phillipsburg, NJ.
Mike also serves as aclinician at numerous camps and clinics in eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including Greg Strobels's Lehigh University Camp. Prior to Red Hawk, Mike served as an assisted with the Voorhees and Delaware Valley youth programs in New Jersey and later with the Easton PAL program.
Since the inception of Area 11 in 1998, Coach Ciasulli and his trademark ponytail have become fixtures on the mats at the PJW State Finals. Without question, Mike has coached more PJW state champions and placewinners than any other Area 11 coach. His long-term commitment to the success and growth of Area 11 is unparalleled by any other coach in the Lehigh Valley.
Mike and his wife Ellen reside in Easton, where they have raised three sons and a daughter. All three of their boys went on to earn medals at the PIAA State Championships while wrestling for Easton Area High School. Most noteworthy, Matthew Ciasulli captured PIAA state titles in 2000, 2001, and 2002.
Mike is a true gentleman, whose passion, expertise and affable personality make him a wonderful ambassador for our sport. It is my honor to niminate Mike Ciasulli for this award for which we recognize him tonight.
